The Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) remotely operated towed vehicle (ROV) is called the FOCUS 1500, containing the SM-2000 (a laser line-scan system manufactured by the Northrop-Grumman Corporation.
This image is digital seabed imagery collected with the SAIC SM2000 Laser Line Scan and Oceanic Imaging Consultants' GeoDAS data acquisition system. This image of a crashed drug-smuggling airplane (Cessna) 400 meters underwater, was captured in May of 2005 off the coast of Southern California, and has been mosaicked at a resolution of 0.5 cm.
