Synthetic Aperture Sonar / PROSAS
PROSAS is a synthetic aperture sonar processing system manufactured by Applied Signal Technology, of Sunnyvale, California. PROSAS - an advanced sonar processor - provides the spatial resolution required to detect and classify mines at long ranges, such as resolution of inches at hundreds of yards. Compared to conventional sidescan sonars, SAS has the potential to increase area coverage rate (ACR) by an order of magnitude while maintaining continuous high resolution.
OIC supports PROSAS both by providing a generic sensor interface to feed raw sonar element data into the process processing system, and by GeoDAS-DTI, for control of PROSAS processing, and display/analysis/mosaicking of PROSAS output.
