Digital Sidescan Data Samples
 

Below are data samples we currently have for OIC-supported digital sidescan sonars. We will be adding to this list as new data become available.

   
  LAKE WASHINGTON, WA, USA
  The Datasonics SIS-1000 was made by Datasonics, Inc., which is now a part of Teledyne Benthos Inc., of North Falmouth, Massachusetts.

  SIS-1000 sidescan and sub-bottom imagery of a B-17 plane wreck on the bottom of Lake Washington.  Data compliments of Bill Charbonneau, Teledyne Benthos.
   
  GULFPORT HARBOR, GULFPORT, MS, USA
  The Datasonics SIS-1500 series were made by Datasonics, Inc., which is now a part of Teledyne Benthos Inc., of North Falmouth, Massachusetts.

  SIS-1501 sidescan data were collected with GeoDAS-PC during the annual NAVOCEANO training course. The data were processed at 30-cm resolution in GeoDAS-Desktop and overlaid on top of an air photo image in ER Mapper.
   
  PIPELINE INSPECTOR, PANAMA CITY, FL, USA
 

The EdgeTech 272-ACI digital sidescan systems are manufactured by EdgeTech Inc., of Massachusetts and Florida.

  SEAFLOOR, PORTSMOUTH, NH, USA
 

The Klein 3000 sidescan system is made by Klein Associates, Inc., of Nashua, New Hampshire.

  GeoDAS mosaic of Klein 3000 Sidescan Sonar Data, from the seafloor of Portsmouth New Hampshire. Sidescan data collected in Klein format were converted to OIC format in OIC_NAP and processed line-by-line at 30-cm resolution in GeoDAS-Desktop, then collaged together in ER Mapper.
   
  GULFPORT HARBOR, GULFPORT MS, USA
  The Klein 5000 series sidescan system is a "multibeam" sidescan, made by Klein Associates, Inc., of Nashua, New Hampshire.

  The MSTL Sea Scan (150, 300, 600, 900 & 1200) series digital sidescan is made by Marine Sonic Technologies Ltd. of White Marsh, Virginia.

  Sidescan data collected by NAVOCEANO were processed at 3-cm resolution in GeoDAS-Desktop and map annotations were added in ER Mapper.
