NAVOCEANO Upgrade Contract
Oceanic Imaging Consultants, Inc. was recently awarded
a five year, not to exceed $5,000,000 contract by NAVOCEANO, for support and upgrades
to their hydrographic data acquisition and processing capabilities for the TAGS-60
ships and Hydrographic Survey Launches.

Charleston has issued a sole source procurement for software maintenance, acquisition hardware and software grooms, acquisition equipment, component maintenance and repair, field and engineering support, training, and spare parts for the GeoDAS acquisition, display, and processing software and hardware using in support of NAVOCEANO's oceanographic survey vessels, in particular the DSS 1500 series side scan sonar to OIC.
OIC staff just completed and delivered the first of 25 units, which will support data acquisition for hydrographic and MCM surveys from Klein 3000/5000 Sidescans and Simrad Multibeam sonars. Sea trials were conducted from the NAVOCEANO survey launch at Gulfport MS Oct 7-9, resulting in the commissioning of GeoDAS-PC V5.0 for all onboard NAVO sensors, including the Teledyne Benthos SIS1502 sidescan, the Klein 3000 and 5000 Sidescans, and the Simrad EM3000 multibeam. Each of the 25 systems will include support for all 4 sensors, plus real-time processing, target marking, real-time mosaicking, creating mission products, and post-acquisition processing.
